“It’s the same when you have sex with your neighbor’s wife: Touch her and you’ll pay for it. No excuses. Hunger is no excuse for a thief to steal; When he’s caught he has to pay it back, even if he has to put his whole house in hock.” Pr.6:29-31msg.
We have innumerable company of witnesses to testify against this generation. They are the saints that had ample opportunities to give reasons for committing sins, but refused to fall into iniquities.
The saints like Joseph, Noah, Lot, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah will testify against this our generation at judgement. They all had reasons to soil their garments of righteousness, but stood for God.
We are so full of excuses to justify sinful habits in our generation. People mock those who maintain integrity and chastity.
What happen in the holy places and on the streets today are like what happened in Job.21:3. It captures the mind of the remnants of our day. “Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.”
Even if fornication, adultery, violence, rituals, cultism, injustice and indecent lifestyle become the order of the day, the Lord said, we must not follow a crowd to do evil. Exodus 23:2. We must not because sinfulness has turned to sport in the world make us lose our balance in Christ Jesus.
Sodom and Gomorrah were filled with those who changed the cause of nature; yet Lot stood his ground. How did he do it? The scripture says, “For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;” 2 Pet 2:8.
In spite of the atrocities and oppression in most homes and societies, and among those who profess Christ, the Lord expects us to stand as individuals for Him.
Elijah didn’t know there were seven thousand somewhere, still he maintained his lane. My experience over the years let me know that many affirmed believers are hypocrites. This has never changed God’s grace. The remnants will be saved.
“For the company of hypocrites will be barren, And fire will consume the tents of bribery.” Job 15:34.
“Knowing , therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.” 2 Cor. 5:11.
No matter what happens, be known to God as unwavering Christian.
Stand up! stand up for Jesus, Ye soldiers of the Cross ! Lift high His royal banner; It must not suffer loss. From vict’ry unto vict’ry His army shall He lead, Till every foe is vanquished, And Christ is Lord indeed.
If you had compromised, repent and if you are by His grace still standing, fear God the more.
Prayer: Father, let me not compromise, but stand for You wherever I find myself in Jesus name. Amen ?
