NACM NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 2019

NACM NEWSLETTER: AUGUST 2019

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of CHRISTIAN MINISTERS

SEPTEMBER 2019 PRAYERLETTER

Greetings in Christ, NACM Member;

Due to the increase of natural disasters (not just in the USA, but all over the world) and “evil men and seducers waxing worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived…” (2 Tim 3:13), the question is being echoed by many Christian leaders, “So what should we Christians be doing!?”  Just having to ask that question says something very clearly about us, the Church, for I suggest the answer is in what Paul admonished Timothy: “I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season (emphasis mine); reprove, rebuke, and encourage with every form of patient instruction” (2 Tim 4:1-2).  In other words: IN SEASON & OUT OF SEASON – keep doing the things you should have always been doing!  There shouldn’t be a difference of intensity and commitment to obeying the Lord and doing His will, the ministry each of us has been called to, whether it’s a pleasant time or a threatening time !  If there is a difference, then repentance on our part is needed!  We shouldn’t just “pull out all the stops” because things are worsening.  But if we’ve been subdued by the pleasantry of the time past, coasting, then yes, we do need to come back to how we should always be: consistently, seriously and prayerfully preaching the whole counsel of God (without compromise or avoidance of possibly consequential topics), speaking His truth in love, humbly correcting, and encouraging with PATIENT teaching.

Let us pray and encourage one another, as co-laborers in the Lord’s harvest fields, towards this end!

  1. I will be on another computer because sometime my messages be on era
    The first citation, (not Mark 13:28-31, ) but. Mark 12:28-31
    The second citation ( not John 19:11, ) but John 10:11;. Please accept my apology. Have a great Thanksgiving Day. Amen

  2. A heart of Compassion.
    Implicit in the Calling of Christian Clergy is a concern to love God and to love others. When asked about the most important commandment, Jesus answered that it was to,Love the Lord God with all your heart, with all your soul. with all your mind, and with all your strength. ” ,this is the first commandment, And the second, like it, is this, “You shall live your neighbor as yourself!”
    There is no other commandment greater than these, as explained in Mark 13:28-31. Chaplains represents many different religious organizations, however, they are expected to be people of Compassion who care about others. Your chaplain can help you by demonstrating a heart of compassion. When facing crushing problems, when it seems that the world is against you, it is helpful to have a chaplain who will compassionately. receive you into a caring pastoral relationship. They will listen and provide appropriate counsel. However chaplains may not care enough to confront when needed. Sometimes the most caring thing your chaplain can do is to challenge you to face tough issues. They may not deliver you “from” a problem, but can help you “through” the problem
    Christian chaplains looked to Jesus as the modeled for ministry. Jesus described Himself as the “Good Shepherd” (John 19:11) to depict His care for His followers. Matthew used the same word picture when he spoke of the compassion heart of Jesus in Matthew 9:36. Chaplains provides the most effective help to you when they act as shepherds who demonstrate compassionate pastoral care. Years ago the branch insignia of the chaplain corps was the Shepherd’s crook and it is still part of the regimental crest for Army chaplains. Being a compassionate Shepherd is core competency of the chaplain. When you need someone to lend an ear and a compassionate heart: go see your chaplain. This is my lifestyle that I will bring with me into Eldership. Have a Happy Thanksgiving
    Amen
