Note on the numbers.  Figures of these kinds are not easily attainable.  Many times they are calculated by the funding grants of well-intending foundations, corporations, or individuals.  For this reason some of the most recent calculations date from the years 2,000, 2,005, and 2,008.  However, it also should be noted that even the U.S. Census Bureau only reports on their total collections every 10 years.  Additionally, the numbers reported herein are all approximate. They were derived by the combination of several trustworthy sources, such as: National Council of Churches, Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies, CIA World Factbook, World Christian Database, U.S. Census Bureau, Association of Religion Data Archives, and Center for Religious Freedom.  There is no apparent reason to believe that they were collected or reported with biases toward any particular Christian denomination.
