” And he (King Amaziah) did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart.” 2 Chronicles 25:2.

Men and women worship in dissension, hatred, backbiting, and all kinds of ulterior motives these days and still assume they are serving God appropriately. We must be careful not to be like this king.

If Satan cannot prevent us to do what is right, he will lure us to do what is right in his own way. He knows as long he is in charge God will not approve it.

“I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” Jeremiah 17:10.

Man looks at our appearance or what we do and say, this is perfect but our Maker who sees into the darkest of the dark may say “I reject this”.

1 Samuel 16:7 says “Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”

There is an urgent call to check our hearts and judge ourselves so that we will not be judged. 1 Cor. 11:31.

Judge your heart, your motive, your method, your reason, your association, your sincerity etc. Because “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matt 7:22-23. May this never be our portion in Jesus name.

Some believers will be refused to enter heaven. Among those who would even enter, some will find out that some of or all their works for God are burnt. Every eye-service to please man will not scale through the crucible.

Prayer: Father, reveal myself to me to let me repent and amend my ways before your judgment comes in Jesus name. Amen.
