like a rocking chair – It will keep you occupied,
But won’t get you anywhere.

“Not ignorant of ill,
I, too, have learnt to succour those that suffer.”

Philippians Chapter 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer
and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests
be made known unto God
.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

We (all) “worry” from time to time, some more than others.
Everyone feels afraid or worried at times, but if these feelings
begin to take over your life, then you may have crossed over
into generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), which is the most common
anxiety disorder among older adults, according to
the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA).

Worry and anxiety ~having a constant anticipation of disaster,
or being overly concerned about issues like health, money,
and family, even when there is no apparent
reason for doing so
 can become a ‘run-away’ problem
for many people (both) young and old alike.

“Let go and let GOD”
GOD’S intention is always for our goodAt times,
HE allows [satan] (or his demons) to come against us,
perhaps to strengthen our faith, to test us, or to prepare us
to help others in their time of need. Regardless of the reason,
we can stand firm in GOD’S promises,
including the promise of 1 John 4:4,
“He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

Worry is a natural part of the human condition, but we can’t
and shouldn’t let it get the best of us.

(We) might worry about something because we perceive it as a threat
to our existence and anxiety causes us to focus on it as we attempt to
protect ourselves (or others) from that threat.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5

3Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4Who comforteth us in all our tribulation,
that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble,
by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God
.
5For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us,
so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

“Been there, done that…”
For me, worry and anxiety can be a trigger leading to episodes of
“mania or depression”. Some people experience feelings of
anxiety or depression or suffer mood swings that are so severe
and overwhelming that they interfere with personal relationships,
job responsibilities, and daily functioning
.
These people may be suffering from an anxiety disorder,
bipolar disorder, or both.
There is a deeper truth in the thought that the power to comfort
varies with the measure in which we have been comforted ourselves.
Sorrow alone may lead to sympathy
but it falls short of that power
to speak a word in season to them that are weary,

which is of the very essence of the work of comforting others.
It can be hard to relate to these concerns, and as a result,
many people don’t know how to best help someone with anxiety.

People are often dismissive of people experiencing anxiety,
With other medical illnesses, you may be able to see
physical symptoms. But with anxietyyou don’t necessarily
see what the person is dealing with.

So it’s important to be sensitive to what the person with
anxiety is going through, “even if it doesn’t make sense to you.”

Sometimes, even though there is no immediate solution
to the worrying — you just can’t get
your worrying out of your mind”.

Sometimes reading a book, watching a movie,
hanging out with friends, exercising, or what-have-you,
helps. The idea is that when focusing on other activities,
you’re bound to worry less.
If you can do things that produce an emotional experience
diametrically opposed to worrying, namely, anything that makes
you feel positive, happy, excited, or relaxed,
often times you will counter the negativity and anxiety
that accompanies worrying. For (me), it’s Bible-study.

= Answers in Scripture —
We are not given all the answers to these questions,
but Scripture does make certain things clear.
First, it is not GOD’S desire for satan to attack people.
satan attacked Eve in the Garden of Eden in the form of a serpent.
Adam and Eve sinned, and all people have become sinful in nature
and are likewise open to the temptations of (satan) (1 Peter 5:8).

Philippians 4:4-8
4Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer
and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests
be made known unto God.
7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Is 
an exact repetition of our LORD’S command of, “Take no thought
(in Matthew 6:25; Matthew 6:34). The prohibition is of that
painful anxiety which is inevitable in all who feel themselves alone
in mere self-dependence amidst the difficulties and dangers of life.

= it’s possible to sink below this anxiety
in mere levity and thoughtlessness ~ (BUT),
=it (also) possible to rise above it by
“casting our care on Him who careth for us,”
and knowing that we are simply “fellow-workers with Him”
(1Peter 5:7; 2Corinthians 6:1).
 In this, the Apostle passes on
at once to speak of the trustfulness of prayer.

Another way of saying: “Be careful for nothing” (is):
‘full of care’ ~ (not) the nervous irritation of a gnawing anxiety
(not) the nervous irritation of a gnawing anxiety
which, as the word in the original means,
{merimnáō } (Strong’s 3309/3308,
tears the heart apart and makes a person quite incapable of
doing the wise thing, or seeing the wise thing to do,
in their (particular) circumstances
.
‘Careful’ here (then) means neither more nor less than ‘anxious.’

Matthew 6:25-27

“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life,
ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body,
what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat,
and the body than raiment?”

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap,
nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them.
Are ye not much better than they?

Which of you by taking thought
can add one cubit unto his stature
?
There is no doubt in my mind, that the ‘’devil’’ is pleased
when we worry…

Worry is destructive to us in many ways.
It drains us of energy and saps our strength.
Worry causes us to miss out on the present joys of life
and the blessings of GOD’S provision.
It becomes a mental burden that can even make us
become physically sick. A wise person once said,
“Ulcers are caused not by what you eat ~
but by what is eating you.

Worry Is the Opposite of TRUST in GOD.
The energy that we spend worrying
can be put to much better use in prayer and supplication.
The Christian life unhampered by worry is one of our greatest freedoms.
It also sets a good example for unbelievers.
Live one day at a time and handle each worry as it comes-
through prayer. Many of our worries never come to pass anyway,
and those that do can only be handled at the moment
and by GOD’S grace
