By now you have probably heard that there has been a “revival” (not an arranged one) happening at ASBURY UNIVERSITY in Wilmore, Kentucky – AGAIN. “Again” because this happened almost identically in 1970 at the same college: and like the present movement, it started with a regular chapel service (they have them MON, WED, & FRI) – this time with a minister called Zach who preached a simple message on whether we as Christians were truly knowing and functioning in all we do in the love of Christ.
I’ve watched almost every YouTube video posted capturing the first chapel service that started this, and the continuing open chapel (and other auditoriums which have been overflowing with people coming from all over – even flying in) – and myself being a “product” of the Spirit’s remarkable movement during the Jesus Movement days (1970 and on), this so strikes an encouraging chord in my heart witnessing this move of the Spirit today. Apparently chapel is still going, now 8 days.
What’s amazing is that this is spreading! Hallelujah! Several other college campuses are experiencing the same, as well as some churches, too – not only in Kentucky, but now in Ohio and more. Some videos show an overabundance of cars flooding into the very small town of Wilmore (I lived there for 6 years while I attended the seminary), not finding any place to park – and now they have opened two auditoriums/meeting rooms since the chapel cannot hold any more!
And as in 1970, classes have been canceled (postponed) as faculty members and students continue to gather in His Presence, worshiping Him, confessing sins and rededicating their lives anew to serving the Lord as He would direct. It has all the indications of our “God at work”!
The skeptical critics haven’t wasted any time either to make videos and cause doubt: it’s just emotionalism, is their cry. But every revival is emotional as well as spiritually regenerating: but there are always those who, for whatever reasons, detest any display of emotion – rejoicing in the Lord (what are they going to do if they make it to be part of the throng around our God’s Throne in heaven!?). As Keith Green once said (wonderful musician, minister and missionary of the Jesus Movement days): “If your heart takes more pleasure in reading novels, or watching TV, or going to the movies, or talking to friends, rather than just sitting alone with God and embracing Him, sharing His cares and His burdens, weeping and rejoicing with Him, then how are you going to handle forever and ever in His presence? You’d be bored to tears in heaven, if you’re not ecstatic about God now!” So the fact that indeed students, faculty members and others are getting emotional in the Presence of Jesus shouldn’t confound us. THE FRUIT though that proves a true, actual move of God by His Spirit will be the character change in Christians who are “revived” (to be more Christ-like) and their determined commitment to know God’s will for them and their ministry in life, and fulfill it!
Nevertheless: let’s not just sit back and watch and wait to see. Let’s join them on our knees, wherever we are, and ask the Lord to send this same revival right here, where we each are kneeling! That was my first response: I don’t want to miss out on what indeed God may be doing! And you don’t have to go to Asbury to participate!! Let’s all seek the Lord, refresh our love and commitment to Him, throw off any compromises we have succumb to and tolerated, and seek for the refilling of His Holy Spirit as much as we can possibly receive!

Greetings from Rye Brook, Rodger! I love this revival, and the honesty shown by all who love Jesus, and those who want to know the deeper things of God/Jesus within the Holy Spirit.
In my opinion, the CS Lewis mindset will always represent “The skepticism critics have when they witness an act of God they do not understand. Problem is, the skeptics are not brave enough to actually take a step toward Jesus and find out for themselves what is genuine — salvation. They are afraid ‘truth’ over rides their intellect, succumbing to man’s knowledge and not Jesus’ knowledge. The admittance of ‘weakness’ takes over their ‘reality of truth’, rather than taking opportunities to really know Christ. It is amazing how the need for ‘proof’ overrides their ability to believe. Jesus can stand before them and perform miracles as He did in ancient biblical times, and the ‘witness’ still would not believe — especially in today’s society, sadly.
I love what you have said here, “THE FRUIT though that proves a true, actual move of God by His Spirit will be the character change in Christians who are “revived” (to be more Christ-like) and their determined commitment to know God’s will for them and their ministry in life, and fulfill it! ”
Makes me reflect upon my honorary DMin and DDiv with North Central Theological Seminary, where I can deeply appreciate the reality of the Holy Spirit’s impartation of knowledge and wisdom into my life through years.
I have ‘renewed’ my house church ministry, In Proclamation of Jesus, and added deliverance studies as well as healing (laying of hands). Presently, I am taking a class with OSL to deepen my praying ability to call out demons and other unholy entities within people, etc. Spiritual Warfare is awful in this area and areas I travel, so I want to call upon the Name of Jesus to cast out those demons, returning Jesus to the lives of people who were ‘confused’ and did not realize what they had entertained. I love the revival Asbury has started, and how the colleges in surrounding areas are carrying the same torch.
Amen!

Roger, there is a video on IFA (ifapray.org — Intercessors for America) where there are people speaking into the atmosphere of the revival; you might find it very interesting as they speak about healing.

A very gentle loving spirit. Individuals receiving the ministry and assurance of God’s love for them as a unique individual as an individual need. While in the midst of hundreds of others receiving the same individual attention for their individual need from the Lord. Pray that the hundreds of Colegians coming to experience this manifestation light the fire on their home campus as well.
If I was a bit better with the insert image I would add one.
Hugely respectfully quite gathering. Simple music, simple testimony, simple word. Always someone near by to turn to the need, lay on hands, hug, speak, or just hold close and let the spirit minister.
There absolutely nothing ‘showy’ or attention gathering. It was like walking into a huge warm blanket of the spirit. It enveloped you with peace, any urgency dissipated, you only wanted to sing and pray as part of the whole. Understanding the tremendous power in unity with fully diverse church beliefs actively present and in harness for the particular work.
Watching the College and University buses departing for schools hundreds of miles away at nearly midnight. Knowing that they are carrying the fire home with them. -

Amen!
All participants of this revival really love Jesus and want to do His will.
I find it interesting that on one of the broadcasts this morning, there is a note: “Asbury College prohibited further recordings and transmissions. We are broadcasting to you what has been documented so far. Let the River Flow.”
I wonder why?

Drawing spectators rather than participants?
From mentions of increased security needed among other things the return to normal campus routine, etc.We have some Intercessors for America that are active staff.
undertone yesterday evening size of response was well beyond available capacity of Howard plus several other venues, one seating seating up to 1,000. Plus support workload was exhausting the helps.
Dear God ready us for Huge. It shall be a tremendous harvest.
