We Do Not All Worship the same God

It has been said that, “We all worship the same God”. Typically this false statement is said in an attempt to create unity among people and different faiths. Unfortunately this blasphemy could be further from the true.

We see throughout scripture that there is just one God, it is made crystal clear as you study the Word. Those who seek to preach any different message than the truth of the Gospels and who corrupt God’s word are guilty as False Prophets. People that use any different text other than the Holy Bible or who deny Jesus as the Son of God and the truth of the Holy Trinity are not only wrong but condemned by their own words.

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.(1 Timothy 2:5) This short passages leaves no room for other believes or dogmas. Again it is written: You shall have no other gods before Me. (Exodus 20:3)

Going through the world’s religions we see exactly what the Bible is warning us against. In the photo we see Pope Francis saying “We all worship the same God” while in an event with many other representatives from other religions. First, the Pope has no authority or higher standing with God than does a sinner, maybe even less. The hierarchy of churches and particularly the Catholic church is not support in scripture at all. No man comes between us and Jesus Christ who is our only way to the Father. So, no man, priest or other person can forgive your sin or has any power to intercede. Also, praying to any other person, saint or deity is blasphemy and in direct opposition to scripture.

We see many names used for God through out the Bible and many have pointed to this in defense of the one God statement. Unfortunately for these poor souls they have foundational misunderstanding what the Bible is saying. There are no less the thirty names for God, but they are all still God; simply each name is a modifier like: “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14) In this passage referencing Christ birth; Immanuel is used and it literally means: God among us. The other names mean King of Kings, redeemer, my hope and the list goes on but it is alway God first.

The other religions all contradict scripture and in doing so identify as anything but Christianity. A brief overview can clear up a lot. Christ said that no other prophet would come after him. That removes Islam, Mormons and a few other beliefs as being of the same God. There is only one God, so Hindu is out. Using this simple logic we can see through the vale of false religions and false teachers. The belief that we ,as a society. can coexist, like the bumper stickers like to say, is also a lie. When other faiths preach hate and death to others we cannot coexist. We maybe able to get along, but we are not of the same family and are not following the same faith.

We, as christians, have chosen to follow Jesus Christ and live our lives to better his kingdom and follow his teaching. There is much division within christianity as well, but this is a result of man creating limits or rules or ignoring scripture they don’t want to follow. In these differences we divide ourselves and in turn fail to follow scripture without omission or addition. Keep your faith simple and direct. The bible isn’t here to agree or disagree with, it here to be followed; and so we are called followers. What we all do have in common is will ALL will be judged by the same God.
