This month of October we spotlight 2 NACM Member Ministers

who have recently joined our ministerial association who were both formerly Muslim.

ABRAHAM IZUAFA is a Christian Minister/Evangelist, founder and director of Celebration Ministry in Lagos, Nigeria (last 6+ years). Formerly in the shipping business for nearly 26 years and sailor in the merchant Navy, I traveled to over 25 countries. Being a Muslim, I would always carry our Holy Book, the Quran, and at every opportunity landing in a country, I would faithfully share about my Muslim faith. But then I came to Christ. I abandoned all the former things, even my business involvements, to follow Christ and evangelize.

The Lord then came to me in a night vision in which He handed me a Bible, declaring it as His only means to conquer the world, in the battle for the souls of the people between the Lord and the kingdom of satan. Now I plan to embark on an international cross-cultural missions trip by road and on foot, from Africa to Western countries, to preach the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and win souls in dire need of salvation! As we proceed on this journey, by this Message we bring awareness of the End Time battle for souls that is happening now. The way out for believers’ victory is the WORD of God, “The Bible”!

More recently I have been led to pick up some marketing business along with my missions work. So God has been faithfully sustaining my little sources of income by this means as ministry income by itself was not enough. All the same I am grateful for life every day and being able to be in the Lord’s service. I appreciate your prayers for this ministry; and glad to be part of the NACM!

Minister Syed Najibi was born and raised in Afghanistan as a Muslim.

Yet today Syed is a devout Christian, having come to the Lord in 2010 in America. Here’s his remarkable Story: My childhood in Afghanistan was amidst much warfare, terrorism and hostility. Rockets flying over our house and gunfire was frequent. Poverty was common. We didn’t have easy access to water, having to go to the river to get the water we needed. There were frequent curfews; life was just dark and gloomy. We didn’t know what our next day would be like.

Of the eight children in our family, four died due to health problems and illness. We don’t talk about it, as it is very painful to remember. I had my own close calls: one incident I had to have stitches in the back of my head; the scar is still there. I faced death multiple times. So life was very difficult; beyond imagination. When one of my cousins was taken captive by the Taliban, my family decided we needed to go ahead and take the risky move to Pakistan for our own safety. That was a very dangerous trip: the Taliban could suddenly stop you on the road, rob you of all your possessions and abduct your women. You then had to choose: to die with your family, or do what they ask of you. Thankfully we made it through, though one time my family lost track of me once in an area known for the black market (human trafficking). For three hours they looked for me. Fortunately a person in a shop I entered “adopted” me and kept me safe for a few hours until my family found me. We finally made it to the border of Pakistan, and God gave us favor and we were let into Pakistan. I was about 4 years old at the time. In Pakistan I had become jaundiced and anorexic: my family worried that they’re going to lose yet another son. But by God’s grace, I got well. So it was a better life but still lived in poverty.

Several years later, in 2002, my whole family was able to relocate to America. We had to go through the United Nations application process, getting the right channel, medical assessments, investigation interviews; it was hard work and you just have to be fortunate to be accepted. But it was God’s will for us, and we finally made it to the USA. I was a teenager then and had really good grades in school: a 4.0! Life was so much better; yet deep inside I felt very empty. I completed a college degree, worked in the aircraft engineering field, then switched careers to corrections (last 6 years). I didn’t go too crazy in the world’s things; I thank God for good parenting for that! But I was just looking for my identity, in search for myself, who I was and my purpose. I even signed up for the Marine Corp, but then my dad was diagnosed with cancer. I had a lot of pressure on me from different expectations; just a lot going on all at once. I was frustrated and discouraged; my friends turned their back on me. I felt really betrayed in every single aspect of my life; taken advantage of.

So I got in my car and was driving really fast, wanting to hit a tree and end it all. Then a voice started speaking to me: it said “Stop. There’s hope for you!” I calmed down. I knew God was calling me. I called one of my old friends and she came and talked with me, inviting me to a Bible study. I went (church for the first time!), and soon after the Bible study leader invited me to meet with him. One thing he particularly helped me with, was that I thought I would have to give something back to the Lord in order to be saved. But he told me that God doesn’t need anything from you to begin with, but to only accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, and just follow his will after that. You’re saved by grace alone, and there’s nothing we can do to earn God’s favor! He told me that if you pray to the real God, the real God would push all of these other powers and false ideas away and come and meet you face to face. It was my first time praying in the name of Jesus, and I just honestly talked to Him from my heart, person to person. For the first time in my life I really felt like I was heard! I felt His peace enter into me.

The very next day God woke me and I just started walking. I ended up at that same church, not even knowing how to get there! Nobody else was there; it was just me and God. I so felt His presence; I can’t explain it. I knew I was saved from my sins and forgiven. I felt light as a feather! I was shedding a lot of tears, and all the hate, grudges and bitterness that I held in my heart towards humanity, people who had hurt me, left. Not only that, but my sins and failures, the condemnation I had felt, was lifted. I was free!

This is how my new life in Christ began, and honestly after that I’ve seen nothing but miracles! God’s work in my life and my relationship with my folks have gotten so much better. The Lord even healed my Dad from his cancer, and others I prayed for, the Lord healed and helped. I have been heavily involved in evangelism, supporting missions and am currently working on supporting a Bible and missionary school. I am studying counseling now to help those who are hurting and can’t afford counseling.

So I share this testimony with everyone for His glory! Amen!
