Accountability Partners

Hi West Virginia

Tomorrow is Lord’s Day. After the meeting tomorrow, I will be meeting with my accountability partner.  I was just wondering howothers feel about accountability partners? Do you feel they are necessary?  Why or why not?

I feel that it is necessary to have an accountability partner in my life. As most of you are aware I am a recovered addict. I know myself well enough to know that I can easily deceive myself. An accountability partner is the extra set of eyes I need in my life. I choose to allow my accountability partner to pick my life apart to find anything I may not be aware of. Our enemy is cunning. I have always considered my disease and our enemy to be one and the same. He sneaks in unaware. My accountability partner may see him when I do not.

  1. Accountability is critical in our walk with the Lord. I am a full time pastor and as a pastor I understand that without my Pastor and other spiritually mature Pastor’s and brethren to talk to and receive counseling from, I could easily end up on the wrong path. I have a Pastor that I meet with every other week and I have a few others that i meet with occasionally not for guidance but for fellowship. I find that almost always during our fellowship i will hear pearls of wisdom straight from the bible that help bring clarity to things going on in my life they we may or may not be talking about. My accountability partner a.k.a. my Pastor is reliable we work together to stay in union with Christ at all times and we are only motivated by love for the Lord and love for our neighbor. We all should have someone to reach out to.

Proverbs 18:24 One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Psalm 133:1 How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
1 John 4:21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

    God Bless Brother!
