NO EXCUSE. Pt. 6

“But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.’ Luke 14:18-19.

You will always have something to engage you or occupy your time. It is your responsibility to identify the right engagement. Or else, one will minor in major and major in the minor. Frivolities can engage someone and the person would think he or she is busy. One can as well be busy doing nothing.

Those who have been in the gym centre before would remember that someone can be running on the spot, sweating without going anywhere. Life could be like that to the unsuspecting.

Excuse has a way of stealing blessings, joy, peace, position and destiny. Many who make excuses are always sincere; but, most times are sincerely wrong. The accuser brings such distraction to rob us of the right place to be.

He knows that we cannot miss our location and get our right allocations. We cannot be full of excuses and be full of successes and breakthrough. It has a way of shortchanging persons.

In our text, a man threw a great dinner party and invited many. It was a great opportunity for the invitees to meet who is who. Aside the honour associated with the occasion, they will be able to strike some deals that would have changed their fortune. They missed this and many others.

Because they missed that, whenever the rich man throws such party again, those that refused the first cannot be considered. It is often said that the leopard cannot change its spots.

“Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots?” Jer. 13:23.

The man will prefer those who will jump at such rare opportunity because they don’t deserve it. This is the reason the Lord often don’t call the qualified but qualified the called.

You too, how do you handle the Lord’s assignment or ministry committed to you? Remember, there are those who will never negotiate. Such will enjoy the best of the Lord.

In God’s service, there are good, acceptable and perfect. If you want to enjoy God’s perfect will, peace and joy in His service, do away with excuses.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, replace in me the heart that make excuses with that of yea and amen in Jesus name. Amen 💕
