I’m going through Numbers 1-18 this week, and I noticed something. The Israelites had no problem with giving for the sacrifices, but they also had no problem with turning from a seemingly impossible task to the Egypt they left. Then, when God said they would die in the wilderness, they had no problem with trying to take the promised land, anyway. My point being what Jeremiah said: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. Who can know it?” It also reminds me of the passage that talks about people being driven by every wind. We can’t let our heart guide us; we must let faith be our guide instead. Believe me, I’m preaching as much to myself as anyone…

Agreed
You right the heart cannot be trusted! But neither can our memory.
Ultimately, the only thing we can trust is the only One we can trust
