BUSY BUT GUILTY
“Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me. And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10: 38-42.
I have come to discover, often times that more believers are too much engrossed with service than knowing God or knowing His mind.
Many a times, organizers of Christian Program, i.e. Christian workers and ministers of the gospel rarely sit down to be blessed or better still being attentive during power packed events.
The question we need to ask ourselves when we put up programs, and we fast, pray, donate and put in our time and strength into it is “is the program organized for people excluding me or I inclusive?”
At the end of such program, many organizers hardly benefit spiritually than how they were before the program.
They are zealously eager to engage in service that will make such events or program a masterpiece.
As good as these are, it can never substitute our learning at the Lord’s feet. He is more interested in our spiritual growth and dept than our running helter skelter to please Him through service.
