“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;” 2 Timothy 3:14.
We are in the perilous time. Many things come in disguise. A lot of fakes pervaded the streets of every community. People have to be extra vigilant and careful to pick the grain from the chaff.
The gospel is also affected by this syndrome. The narrative is huge.
Many preachers, teachers, shepherds, prophets etc are springing up everywhere. To know the difference, you must know your God and know His nature, His likes and dislikes through the scripture. Study to show yourself approved unto God.
1. “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made.” 1 John 2:19.
2. “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?” Gal. 3:1.
3. “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 2 Timothy 3:5-8.
Look before you leap. Never follow the blind who wallow in pool of sins and promises deliverance. Follow Jesus, look unto Jesus. Make Jesus of Nazareth your standard. Run away from wolves in sheep skin.
It is a costly assumption to follow blindly, worship blindly and think we will make heaven. The rule is “knowing of whom thou hast learned.” 2 Timothy 3:14.
Prayer: Father, help me to consciously follow and worship You so that I will not be entangled by the wolves in Jesus name. Amen.
